If you can make judgment calls in quoting, pricing, routing, and actual final prices on all transactions within the established guidelines of the company for your assigned customer base with approval as required, this position may be a great fit for you. As Import Coordinator, you will be responsible for updating any customer specific Work Process as the scope of work changes and notification to the assigned salesperson or management if none are assigned. You will also compile, review and manage all documentation and records required to clear goods through US Customs and utilize experience and knowledge of US Customs rules and regulations to classify goods and determine applicable duty and taxes. Applicants must have 2 to 3 years of HTS classification and filing entries with US Customs and other government agencies in freight forwarding (A-Z process), as well as a thorough knowledge of U.S. Customs rules and regulations with an in-depth understanding of U.S. import process as it relates to customs clearance. Thorough knowledge of PGA requirements for foodstuffs and pharmaceuticals is also preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills, organization and time management, and keen attention to detail are essential for this position. We have a client that is looking for an Airfreight Manager, requiring a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics and Supply Chain, Transportation, or any other associated field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of an educational requirement that consists of 5-7 years minimum airfreight experience and 3-5 years minimum supervisory experience. Applicants with completion of any industry-related course is considered an asset. This position supervises up to twelve (12) full-time employees and may supervise temporary employees from time to time based on projects, so interested personnel should possess leadership skills. Essential tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Directly or indirectly managing all air product staff within the assigned territory
  • Ensures all air product operations within the assigned territory are compliant with internal policies and external government regulations
  • Ensures air product working capital targets are met within assigned territory especially targets set for DPO (with product vendors) and DSO (especially on pass-through items)
  • Meet volume and top-line air product revenue growth targets for assigned territory
  • Has authority and is responsible to set product general and customer-specific sell tariff and spot rates for assigned territory and customers transacted within territory superseded only by geographical or functional up-line
  • Holds team accountable for developing clear and concise CSOPs Customer Specific Operating document(s) and certifications. Validates product staff understand and comply with CSOPs.
  • Professionally manages customer escalations in conjunction with Sales
  • Leads or participates in corrective actions as necessary to mitigate the likelihood of revenue or profit loss when business is at risk
  • Monitors and manages staffing levels and workload allocation across the product team. This includes talent acquisition, furloughing, re-purposing, re-shifting, demotion, promotion, and severance
  • Manages vendors or TSP relationships within assigned product territory or as agreed with functional up-line and develops strategic partnerships as necessary to differentiate product competitiveness
  • Responsible for the quality of cross-docking, consolidation, deconsolidation, and other product-specific activities occurring either in a or 3rd party warehouse. Assists District or Branch Managers with selecting, measuring, and managing or 3rd party warehouses

Have experience as a Shipping Technician? We have a company located in the Northwest Houston, Highway 290/Beltway 8 area that is looking for a temp to hire. The shift is from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, with daily overtime up to 12-hour shifts. There is weekend work expected with up to 8 hours on Saturdays, and requires experience as a forklift operator. The individual must read and interpret sale order acknowledgment (SOA) and bill of material (BOM), perform data entry responsibilities from an oracle database, and handle tasks related to shipping, receiving and inventory. We have another company located in the North Houston Intercontinental Airport area that is looking for an individual interested in temp to hire that can work Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. As Manufacturing Administrator, the position requires the individual to work both in and outside the office. Inside the office tasks include assisting with answering phones, filing paperwork and calling customers, while outside the office tasks include taking shipping paperwork to drivers, as well as verifying orders and materials with drivers. Another position available through Staff Solve is Hazmat Coordinator – Marine Operations. This position requires 3-5 years of experience, 49 CFR certification, IMDG certification, and preferred TDGR and ADR certifications. Duties of the job include maintaining status updates of all pending Hazmat bookings twice a day, creating Hazmat applications and sending it to all parties involved, and advising customer service if approved or rejected with all approvals sent booking confirmations within 48 hours when the request was received. You will also assist customers with missing or incorrect Hazmat information, be responsible for viewing all hazmat booking applications to determine compliance regarding regulations and restrictions, and review sales quote requests for Hazmat cargo exporting or importing in the US. Lastly, a company located in the North West Houston area around 290 and Beltway 8 needs a Heavy Forklift Operator to work day shifts with overtime including weekends. The average shift period is 12 hours (6:00 am – 6:00 pm) and required experience with a 24,000ln forklift, preferably Taylor Brand. The position is temp to hire at $20 per hour, and consists of maneuvering pipes up to 40 feet, assisting with paperwork, shipping and receiving, and loading/unloading trucks and pipe racks.
